Once Upon A Crescent

Once Upon a Crescent is a collection of Islamic  stories for children. Written and produced by Mrs. Hashimi, these stories aim to impart Islamic morals to kids through light-hearted storytelling. Not only are stories a great way to settle into a bedtime routine, but they also provide rich opportunities for meaningful dialogue between parent and child. Snuggle up with your little one and feel free to use this podcast as a starting point to talk about Islamic values. My goal is to facilitate some important moral conversations by introducing Islamic values with storytelling

Muslim Children Stories Review

Parents need to know that Once Upon a Crescent: Muslim Kids Podcast is a storytelling podcast for young listeners to learn Islamic values and traditions. Bedtime stories feature characters dealing with a wide variety of common struggles and decisions children face in their day-to-day lives. Many episodes center around themes that affect all children: compassion, tolerance, acceptance, and integrity. But most episodes present challenges Muslim children may specifically face in certain settings. The podcast also highlights and celebrates Muslim traditions. The stories told are often quirky and humorous while also promoting problem solving tools like: asking for help when needed, relying on faith-based morals, engaging in self-dialogue, and having confidence in ability. Adults may find many themes and situations covered relatable to their own childhood or even current moral dilemmas they face. Families from all backgrounds and faiths can find commonality in these stories.
